This is the first Spitfire I had ever seen in real life. When I came to it I was surprised to find myself rooted to the spot for half an hour. I had forgotten how much I loved these aircraft and the stories about those who flew them to protect the people they knew. There is no finer aircraft in the world and MK923 is a particularly good example of why this is so, just look at those ergonomically perfect sweeping lines!
MK923 is a MkIX Spitfire, its operational history began in 1944 during which it successfully shot down several Me109s. (I will add more information about the aircraft as I get it!)
